<p>We are looking for an experienced Development Accountant to lead financial reporting and development accounting for large-scale, mixed-use projects. Based in Toronto, Ontario, this role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of accounting systems, budget analysis, and financial processes. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and contribute to process improvements while ensuring compliance with established accounting standards.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>·      Perform full cycle accounting duties on project portfolio including cash management, bank reconciliations, invoice approvals, month-end/quarter-end development project level close</p><p>·      Prepare monthly working paper files for the development portfolio and draft journal entries for development related transactions</p><p>·      Responsible for regulatory filings and preparation of joint venture legal entity financial statements for compliance purposes</p><p>·      Build working relationship with joint venture partners to deliver accurate and timely consolidated month-end financial results </p><p>·      Communicate and collaborate with internal business partners to remain informed about development project status</p><p>·      Assist in the maintenance of internal control policies and procedures </p><p>·      Prepare and review cash calls / financing draws for your respective projects</p><p>·      Continuously implement process improvement initiatives to increase effectiveness and productivity </p><p>·      Compile supporting documents for auditors on a quarterly basis </p><p>·      Complete ad-hoc analyses or reports as required </p><p><br></p>

<p>·      Preferred candidate would possess or be pursuing an accounting designation </p><p>·      Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience within accounting and reporting </p><p>·      Commercial and mixed-use real estate industry experience is an asset </p><p>·      Proficiency with Microsoft Suite applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Financial systems (JDE, BI tools, Spreadsheet Server), Power BI is an asset </p><p>·      Proactive, self-motivated, flexible, and collaborative individual </p><p>·      Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, problem solving skills with high level of attention to detail and accuracy </p><p>·      Ability to organize and prioritize various tasks in a fast-paced environment </p><p>·      Work independently and as an integral part of the team </p><p>·      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills </p><p><br></p>
