Accounting Clerk
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Markham, Ontario, on a contract basis. In this role, you will support our finance department during the busy season, helping with administrative tasks, donation processing, and other office duties. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a dynamic environment within the healthcare and social assistance industry.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Process and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately.<br>• Assist with donor gift batching and entering data into Raiser's Edge and QuickBooks systems.<br>• Support the handling of incoming mail, including opening, sorting, and tallying donations.<br>• Perform general administrative tasks to ensure smooth office operations.<br>• Respond to inquiries from donors and provide exceptional customer service.<br>• Prepare and process invoices efficiently while maintaining organized records.<br>• Collaborate with team members to manage peak season workloads effectively.<br>• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes.<br>• Ensure all financial data is entered with precision and up-to-date.<br>• Assist with special projects and fundraising-related activities as needed.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Raiser's Edge software.<br>• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing processes.<br>• Experience with invoice processing and account reconciliation.<br>• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for reporting and analysis.<br>• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.<br>• Previous experience in a not-for-profit or small office environment is an asset.<br>• Strong communication skills for interacting with donors and team members.<br>• Positive attitude and willingness to assist with various office tasks.
