Accounts Payable Clerk
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Brampton, Ontario. This role involves managing high-volume accounts payable functions across multiple locations within the construction industry. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and reconciliations, while maintaining compliance with internal controls and procedures.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Verify invoices for proper authorization, receipt of goods, and accurate account coding prior to processing.<br>• Collaborate with purchasers to resolve discrepancies related to pricing or quantities.<br>• Post invoices to subsidiary accounts payable ledgers and ensure timely updates.<br>• Monitor payment schedules to ensure deadlines are met and due dates are not overlooked.<br>• Conduct cheque runs and process wire transfers to maintain timely payments.<br>• Analyze supplier statements and address any discrepancies effectively.<br>• Complete credit applications for new suppliers and set up vendor accounts as required.<br>• Reconcile accounts payable subledger to the general ledger for accurate financial reporting.<br>• Support year-end audits and tax schedules by preparing necessary documentation.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable or a related role. • Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a must • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to analyze supplier statements and resolve discrepancies efficiently. • Excellent communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and vendors. • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices. • Experience in the construction or contractor industry is considered an asset.
