We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Austin, Texas. In this role, you will support the Controller in managing various accounting functions, with a primary focus on accounts payable. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a dynamic organization while developing your accounting expertise.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Accurately code invoices to the general ledger and ensure proper approvals are obtained from business owners.<br>• Process expense reimbursements, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.<br>• Oversee the weekly accounts payable payment cycle, from recommended payments to issuing and mailing checks.<br>• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.<br>• Manage and maintain the accounts payable aging and assist with ad-hoc payment requests.<br>• Perform credit card statement reconciliations and ensure accurate posting to the general ledger.<br>• Assist with month-end close tasks, including preparing journal entries, reconciling GL accounts, and maintaining prepaid schedules.<br>• Support the development and enforcement of accounts payable policies and procedures.<br>• Generate client invoices in accordance with project management directives and contractual requirements.<br>• Assist with project and milestone setup in accounting software as needed.
