Accounting Assistant
We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to join our team in Wilmington, North Carolina. This long-term contract position offers the opportunity to contribute to essential financial operations, including payroll and accounts payable, while supporting organizational goals. The role requires someone with strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and experience in accounting processes.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Process weekly payroll data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established procedures.<br>• Enter employee information into the accounting system and verify payroll details for accuracy.<br>• Organize, scan, and archive historical payroll files and employee records as part of a priority project.<br>• Manage electronic filing of accounts payable check copies and invoices, maintaining accurate records.<br>• Update and maintain Certificates of Insurance (COIs), adding new certificates and removing expired ones.<br>• Assist in reviewing payroll data and providing additional oversight as needed.<br>• Perform additional administrative tasks related to accounts payable and payroll, depending on availability.<br>• Collaborate with team members across finance and accounting divisions to ensure smooth operations.
• Proficiency in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.<br>• Experience with full-cycle payroll management and electronic filing systems.<br>• Knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting software.<br>• Ability to perform bank reconciliations and code invoices accurately.<br>• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.<br>• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.<br>• Prior experience in scanning, archiving, and maintaining financial records.<br>• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and provide thorough reviews.
