We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team on a contract basis in Williamsport, Maryland. This role will support critical financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in accounting processes for a subsidiary within the fire protection industry. The position offers an opportunity to work closely with the finance team to optimize workflows and contribute to construction-related accounting tasks.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Manage the month-end closing process to deliver timely and precise financial reports.<br>• Prepare and post journal entries while overseeing general ledger operations.<br>• Conduct bank and account reconciliations using Sage Intacct.<br>• Address multi-state payroll accounting challenges and ensure compliance.<br>• Support the documentation and improvement of new accounting procedures.<br>• Assist in generating Work In Progress (WIP) reports and handle construction-related accounting responsibilities.<br>• Collaborate with on-site finance and accounting teams to provide necessary assistance.<br>• Ensure smooth integration and troubleshooting during system transitions.<br>• Maintain organization and attention to detail in all accounting tasks.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.<br>• Demonstrated expertise in month-end closing, journal entries, and reconciliations within a multi-entity environment.<br>• Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct or similar accounting software.<br>• Knowledge of multi-state payroll systems and construction accounting practices.<br>• Familiarity with Work In Progress (WIP) reporting is highly preferred.<br>• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.<br>• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, on-site environment.<br>• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related financial tools.
