Financial Analyst - Entry Level
We are looking for an entry-level Financial Analyst to join our team in Washington, District of Columbia. In this long-term contract role, you will play a critical part in monitoring financial transactions, identifying unusual patterns, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to build their career in financial services while contributing to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Investigate alerts from transaction monitoring systems to identify potential irregularities or suspicious activities.<br>• Analyze client transactional data, comparing it to expected patterns and investigating any anomalies.<br>• Conduct thorough follow-up on flagged transactions to determine their legitimacy through due diligence.<br>• Prepare clear and detailed documentation of findings for review by senior compliance teams or regulatory authorities.<br>• Collaborate with internal departments to gather necessary information for customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence processes.<br>• Stay informed about relevant regulations and apply this knowledge effectively in compliance-related tasks.<br>• Participate in ongoing training sessions to remain updated on regulatory changes and industry best practices.<br>• Work alongside the technology team to optimize transaction monitoring systems for improved performance.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems and general accounting functions.<br>• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas and data analysis tools.<br>• Strong critical thinking abilities to evaluate complex financial data.<br>• Familiarity with banking software and general Microsoft Office Suite applications.<br>• Experience in high-volume data entry, including numeric and computer-based data entry tasks.<br>• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing and entering data.<br>• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines effectively.
