Accounting Specialist
We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Washington, District of Columbia. This role involves supporting compliance efforts by analyzing financial data and reviewing historical contract documents. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in accounting practices and a keen eye for accuracy.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Examine and analyze contract documents from previous years to ensure data accuracy and compliance.<br>• Conduct billing processes and resolve discrepancies in financial records.<br>• Perform account reconciliations to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial information.<br>• Collaborate with the compliance department on audit activities to ensure regulatory standards are met.<br>• Utilize data analytics tools to organize and interpret financial information.<br>• Identify and address inconsistencies or errors in historical financial records.<br>• Provide detailed reports summarizing findings and recommendations.<br>• Work closely with team members to streamline accounting workflows.<br>• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to company policies regarding sensitive financial data.
• Proven experience in billing functions, account reconciliation, and general accounting.<br>• Demonstrated ability to perform detailed audits and compliance reviews.<br>• Familiarity with data analytics tools and software.<br>• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.<br>• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.<br>• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.<br>• Knowledge of relevant accounting regulations and standards.<br>• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
