Accounting Specialist
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team on a Contract basis in Washington, District of Columbia. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes, with a particular focus on reviewing and analyzing historical contract documentation. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on tackling complex financial data and contributing to organizational compliance.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Review and analyze historical contract documents to ensure data accuracy and completeness.<br>• Perform account reconciliation tasks to identify and resolve discrepancies.<br>• Oversee billing processes to maintain compliance with organizational standards.<br>• Conduct audits of financial records to ensure adherence to internal and external guidelines.<br>• Collaborate with team members to address data cleanup challenges and implement solutions.<br>• Track and report progress on data cleanup projects to relevant stakeholders.<br>• Organize and maintain financial records and documentation for accessibility and accuracy.<br>• Support the compliance team with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting tasks.<br>• Ensure that all accounting activities align with established policies and regulations.
• Proven experience in billing functions, account reconciliation, and general accounting practices.<br>• Strong knowledge of financial auditing procedures and best practices.<br>• Exceptional analytical skills with a focus on detail and accuracy.<br>• Proficiency in using accounting software and data management tools.<br>• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.<br>• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and presenting findings.<br>• Familiarity with compliance standards and regulatory requirements in accounting.<br>• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
