<p>We’re expanding our front-end team to support ongoing enhancements and accessibility improvements for an existing, large-scale online language assessment platform. You’ll join a coachable, collaborative group of HTML/CSS coders working through several hundred items sequentially—updating, validating, and ensuring compliance and usability.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p><ul><li>Update and refine existing <strong>HTML/CSS</strong> across assessment items to ensure <strong>accessibility</strong> and modern compliance.</li><li>Work within text editors inside the codebase to make targeted front-end changes.</li><li>Implement and validate <strong>JavaScript</strong> adjustments as needed for behavior and interaction.</li><li>Execute accessibility checks (e.g., headings, landmarks, semantic markup, color contrast, focus order).</li><li>Validate screen reader support (e.g., <strong>JAWS</strong>) and keyboard navigation.</li><li>Use <strong>Chrome</strong> to review changes, test behaviors, and verify UI/UX integrity.</li><li>Collaborate with devs/testers to triage issues—<strong>flag</strong>, <strong>define</strong>, and hand off bugs for remediation.</li><li>Contribute to continuous improvement of testing and accessibility workflows.</li></ul><p><br></p>

<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li><strong>2+ years</strong> of hands-on <strong>HTML/CSS</strong> front-end coding experience.</li><li>Working knowledge of <strong>JavaScript</strong> for basic UI logic and interaction fixes.</li><li>Demonstrated experience updating code for <strong>accessibility</strong> (WCAG-oriented practices).</li><li>Comfortable reviewing and updating files via <strong>Chrome</strong> developer tools and text editors.</li><li>Detail-oriented, consistent, and able to work through high volumes of items efficiently.</li><li>Strong communication; coachable and collaborative.</li></ul><p><strong>Nice to Have</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with <strong>JAWS</strong> or other screen readers (NVDA, VoiceOver).</li><li>Background in <strong>web page test platforms</strong> or content-driven assessment environments.</li><li>Familiarity with structured UAT workflows and defect lifecycle tools.</li></ul><p><strong>Tools & Environment</strong></p><ul><li>Text editors for direct code updates (front-end within code files).</li><li>Browser: <strong>Chrome</strong> (validation and functional checks).</li><li>Screen reader exposure: <strong>JAWS</strong> (plus keyboard-only navigation).</li><li>Bug handling: Issues are <strong>flagged and escalated</strong> to developers for re-code and fix.</li></ul><p><br></p>
