Medical Records Clerk
We are looking for a Medical Records Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Waconia, Minnesota. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining and organizing patient records in compliance with medical, ethical, and legal standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual to contribute to the healthcare industry by ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in record management.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Organize and manage patient medical records using electronic health record systems to ensure accessibility and accuracy.<br>• Review medical documentation to verify completeness and adherence to established standards and regulations.<br>• Retrieve patient records promptly for healthcare providers, including physicians, nurses, and technicians.<br>• Ensure strict confidentiality and security of patient information in compliance with privacy regulations.<br>• Respond to information requests from patients and authorized personnel while maintaining data protection protocols.<br>• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, typing, organizing correspondence, and scheduling appointments.<br>• Train and assist other staff members in effectively managing medical records.<br>• Generate reports and statistical summaries related to patient records as required.<br>• Maintain compliance with health and safety standards in all aspects of record management.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, and Allscripts.<br>• Familiarity with medical software including Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA).<br>• Strong knowledge of medical billing functions and claim administration processes.<br>• Experience in auditing medical records for accuracy and compliance.<br>• Ability to create and interpret charts, graphs, and statistical summaries.<br>• Skilled in answering inbound calls and maintaining clear and effective communication.<br>• Excellent organizational skills with a detail-oriented approach to managing documentation.<br>• Demonstrated ability to safeguard sensitive information and uphold confidentiality standards.
