We are looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented Patient Registration Specialist to join our Emergency Department team in Tarzana, California. In this contract position, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring patients are registered efficiently and accurately during critical moments. This role requires strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Welcome patients and their families to the Emergency Department with professionalism and empathy.<br>• Collect and validate patient demographic and insurance information to ensure accuracy.<br>• Obtain and securely scan necessary documents, including identification and insurance cards.<br>• Explain financial responsibilities such as co-payments and assist patients with payment collection.<br>• Accurately input patient data into the electronic health record system.<br>• Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and minimize delays.<br>• Address patient and visitor inquiries with a calm and supportive demeanor.<br>• Adhere to hospital policies and maintain compliance with organizational standards.<br>• Perform additional administrative tasks as required to support the department.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework is a plus.<br>• Previous experience in healthcare registration, admissions, or patient access is strongly preferred.<br>• Proficiency in multitasking and data entry with strong organizational skills.<br>• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.<br>• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.<br>• Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic health record systems is preferred.<br>• Availability to work alternating weekends.<br>• Comfortable working in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting with frequent patient interactions.
