Desktop IT Support Technician
We are looking for a dedicated Desktop IT Support Technician to join our team in Tampa, Florida. This Contract-to-Permanent position involves providing first-level technical support to end-users, handling hardware and software troubleshooting, and assisting with light hardware installations. The role requires a proactive, customer-focused individual who can effectively manage IT support tasks in a dynamic environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Provide first-line technical support for hardware, software, and network issues, including desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.<br>• Diagnose and resolve basic technical problems related to operating systems, software applications, and connectivity.<br>• Assist with light IT hardware installations, such as setting up monitors, docking stations, and other peripherals.<br>• Manage and track support tickets using an IT service management system, ensuring timely resolution and user communication.<br>• Document support activities thoroughly, including issue resolution steps and maintaining hardware/software inventories.<br>• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as software updates and password resets, while ensuring compliance with company IT policies.
• High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s degree in IT or a related field is preferred.<br>• 1-2 years of experience in technical support or a helpdesk role; relevant certifications or training are a plus for entry-level candidates.<br>• Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows and macOS environments.<br>• Familiarity with Office365 tools such as Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive, along with basic administration and troubleshooting skills.<br>• Basic understanding of networking concepts, including IP configurations and connectivity issues.<br>• Experience with audio-visual equipment setup, such as projectors and video conferencing tools.<br>• Knowledge of IT hardware components and installation procedures.<br>• Certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft 365 Fundamentals are advantageous.
