We are looking for an Ophthalmic Technician to join our team in St. Cloud, Minnesota. This contract-to-permanent position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working directly with patients. The role involves assisting in eye care procedures, maintaining efficient patient flow, and supporting the team in delivering exceptional care.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Guide patients from the reception area to the examination room and conduct initial pre-testing, including measuring eye pressure and assessing visual acuity.<br>• Collect accurate medical and ocular histories to ensure thorough documentation.<br>• Perform refraction tests to determine eyeglass prescriptions, with training available if needed.<br>• Conduct preliminary eye examinations before the doctor sees the patient.<br>• Administer eye drops and explain procedures to patients as required.<br>• Assist the physician during minor office procedures and treatments.<br>• Perform specialized ophthalmic testing as prescribed by the doctor.<br>• Maintain and calibrate ophthalmic equipment to ensure optimal functionality.<br>• Manage inventory by ordering supplies and tracking usage.<br>• Promote a smooth workflow by ensuring efficient patient transitions and supporting team collaboration.

• Previous experience in ophthalmic care is preferred, but willingness to learn is essential.<br>• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues in a detail-oriented and friendly manner.<br>• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and patient management systems.<br>• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and dedication to maintaining patient confidentiality.<br>• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.<br>• Familiarity with eye anatomy, refractive errors, and common ocular conditions is an advantage.<br>• Capacity to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced clinical setting.<br>• Commitment to providing excellent customer service and ensuring patient satisfaction.
