We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Savannah, Georgia. This Contract position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to accounting operations within the retail industry. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in corporate tax, general ledger management, and financial reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance in all accounting processes.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure compliance with regulations.<br>• Manage sales tax filings and resolve related discrepancies.<br>• Maintain accurate journal entries to support financial reporting.<br>• Oversee general ledger activities, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded.<br>• Utilize QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online to manage and reconcile accounts.<br>• Assist with monthly and annual financial close processes.<br>• Analyze financial data and generate reports for management.<br>• Collaborate with internal teams to support audits and compliance reviews.<br>• Identify and implement improvements to accounting procedures.<br>• Ensure timely and accurate processing of accounting transactions.

• Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and filing.<br>• Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and practices.<br>• Proficiency in managing general ledger and journal entries.<br>• Advanced skills in QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online.<br>• Ability to analyze financial data and create detailed reports.<br>• Familiarity with accounting principles and practices in the retail industry.<br>• Excellent organizational and time management skills.<br>• Strong communication skills for collaboration with team members.
