Staff Accountant
<p>Robert Half is partnering with one our clients for a 2-3 month contract role to support their organization across a portfolio of restaurants, hotels, and event spaces. Position Summary The Junior Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, with a primary focus on Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing. This position ensures accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in financial transactions, contributing to the overall efficiency of the accounting department.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><p>Accounts Payable (AP):</p><ul><li>Process vendor invoices, expense reports, and credit card transactions.</li><li>Verify accuracy of invoices, match with purchase orders, and obtain necessary approvals.</li><li>Prepare weekly check runs and electronic payments.</li><li>Maintain vendor files and respond to inquiries regarding payments.</li></ul><p>Accounts Receivable (AR):</p><ul><li>Generate and distribute customer invoices for events, catering, and hospitality services.</li><li>Record incoming payments and reconcile customer accounts.</li><li>Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances.</li><li>Assist with collections and resolve billing discrepancies.</li></ul><p>General Accounting Support:</p><ul><li>Assist with month-end closing activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.</li><li>Support the preparation of financial reports and documentation for audits.</li><li>Maintain accurate records in compliance with company policies and GAAP standards.</li><li>Collaborate with operations and management teams to ensure smooth financial workflows.</li></ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p>- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).</p><p>- 1–2 years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality or service industries.</p><p>- Strong knowledge of AP/AR processes and basic accounting principles.</p><p>- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and MS Excel.</p><p>- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.</p><p>- Strong communication skills for interacting with vendors, clients, and internal teams.</p>
