Fraud Analyst
<p>We are looking for a skilled Fraud Analyst to join our team in San Francisco, California. In this Contract position, you will play a pivotal role in detecting and mitigating fraudulent activity related to a fintech credit card product. This opportunity is ideal for professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy analytical challenges.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Conduct thorough reviews of credit card applications to identify potential fraud, including first-party, third-party, and synthetic cases.</p><p>• Monitor account activity and analyze flagged transactions to detect suspicious behavior using advanced rules engines.</p><p>• Take prompt action to minimize financial loss by investigating high-risk transactions and implementing effective fraud mitigation strategies.</p><p>• Collaborate with customer support teams to address fraud-related inquiries and resolve customer service issues.</p><p>• Maintain detailed records of investigations and provide reports on fraud trends to support data-driven decision-making.</p><p>• Utilize industry-leading tools and technologies to enhance fraud detection and prevention capabilities.</p><p>• Stay updated on emerging fraud techniques and adapt strategies to combat evolving threats.</p><p>• Work effectively within a staggered schedule to ensure coverage and continuity in fraud monitoring efforts.</p><p>• Contribute to the development of workflows and processes that improve fraud prevention efficiency.</p>
<p>• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in fraud analysis, preferably within fintech or startup environments.</p><p>• Hands-on expertise in credit card issuing, transaction monitoring, and fraud investigation.</p><p>• Strong analytical skills and the ability to make decisive judgments based on incomplete or ambiguous information.</p><p>• Experience with tools such as Effective, Sentilink, Socure, and Plaid is preferred.</p><p>• Must have experience with credit card applications.</p><p>• Proactive and adaptable mindset with a willingness to take ownership of tasks and initiatives.</p><p>• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate across teams.</p><p>• Confidence in navigating non-standard workflows and ambiguous scenarios.</p>
