We are currently seeking an experienced Staff Accountant for one of our esteemed clients in San Diego, CA. This contract-to-permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to build your career in a dynamic and collaborative environment.</p><p><br></p><p>The Staff Accountant will be a key contributor to the finance team, responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with account reconciliations, and supporting various accounting operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys analyzing financial data and thrives in a fast-paced environment.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger accurately and on time.</li><li>Reconcile accounts, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and bank statements, to ensure accuracy.</li><li>Assist with the preparation of financial statements in compliance with GAAP.</li><li>Support budgeting and forecasting processes under the guidance of senior team members.</li><li>Analyze financial variances and develop recommendations to improve financial processes.</li><li>Maintain and update fixed asset schedules and depreciation calculations.</li><li>Assist with audits by compiling and organizing relevant documentation.</li><li>Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial data and resolve accounting discrepancies.</li></ul>

<ul><li> Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.</li><li> 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment.</li><li> Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite, or similar. Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP, are a must.</li><li>Solid understanding of GAAP and general ledger workflows.</li><li>Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Skills:</strong></p><ul><li>CPA certification or working toward CPA designation is highly desirable.</li><li>Experience with ERP systems or multi-entity accounting environments is a plus.</li><li>Knowledge of reconciliations and journal entries for multiple currencies is advantageous.</li></ul><p><br></p>
