We are looking for an experienced IT Security Specialist to assist with critical incident remediation and strengthen the security infrastructure of a dynamic organization. This Contract position offers the flexibility of remote work while requiring close collaboration during the company’s working hours. Based in San Diego, California, the role involves tackling immediate security needs and implementing long-term strategies to prevent future threats.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Strengthen network security by implementing measures for hardening existing infrastructure, including the SonicWall TZ470-HA firewall.<br>• Perform comprehensive system scans using Sentinel1 tools to identify and address vulnerabilities.<br>• Analyze logs from Active Directory, firewalls, and other systems to uncover patterns and potential risks.<br>• Develop and recommend best practices for preventing security incidents, including system hardening, workflow changes, event logging, and regular patching.<br>• Manage and review security protocols for on-premises systems such as QuickBooks servers and cloud-hosted environments.<br>• Collaborate with third-party vendors to ensure alignment on cybersecurity measures.<br>• Provide expert guidance on regulatory compliance related to data privacy and governance.<br>• Create detailed documentation of findings, actions taken, and recommendations for future improvements.<br>• Assist with the restoration and security validation of systems impacted during the incident.<br>• Ensure the security framework aligns with the needs of approximately 50 users across the organization.

• Proven expertise in cybersecurity, including data privacy and governance.<br>• Proficiency in database security and securing computer files.<br>• Hands-on experience with Active Directory management and firewall configuration.<br>• Strong knowledge of SonicWall devices and Azure Sentinel.<br>• Familiarity with QuickBooks server security and Microsoft Office 365 environments.<br>• Ability to analyze and interpret security logs from various systems.<br>• Adept at developing and implementing system hardening strategies.<br>• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and third-party vendors.
