Staff Accountant
We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Salt Lake City, Utah. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy of financial records, supporting reconciliation tasks, and contributing to month-end close activities. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong foundation in accounting principles, advanced Excel skills, and a proactive approach to process improvement.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations for bank accounts and credit cards with high transaction volumes.<br>• Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and managing accruals.<br>• Ensure the accuracy of the general ledger and maintain compliance with accounting standards.<br>• Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and resolve them efficiently.<br>• Support external audits by preparing necessary schedules and providing required documentation.<br>• Contribute to accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks as needed.<br>• Utilize advanced Excel functions such as pivot tables and formulas to streamline reporting and reconciliation processes.<br>• Identify opportunities to enhance accounting workflows and increase operational efficiency.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.<br>• At least 2 years of experience in accounting roles, with a focus on reconciliations.<br>• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions like pivot tables and formulas.<br>• Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Sage is preferred.<br>• Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume reconciliations with accuracy and attention to detail.<br>• Strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset.<br>• Self-driven with a willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.<br>• Excellent organizational skills and a sharp eye for detail.
