We are looking for a dedicated Accounting Manager to join our team in Salinas, California. This Contract-to-permanent position offers an opportunity to oversee key financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, while collaborating with leadership on budgeting and financial analysis. Responsibilities: • Manage and supervise all aspects of accounts payable, ensuring timely payment of monthly bills, contract analysis, and integration with the general ledger. • Oversee accounts receivable processes, including government contracts, private payments, grants, and rental income, while ensuring accurate reconciliation and ledger integration. • Lead and train AP and AR staff, handling hiring, performance evaluations, and ongoing development of accounting team members. • Assist in preparing annual budgets and conducting monthly financial analyses, including the creation of detailed reports. • Monitor and enforce accounting policies and procedures, recommending efficiency improvements where necessary. • Maintain and update the fixed assets ledger to ensure accurate tracking and reporting. • Ensure cross-training among accounting staff to maintain workflow continuity during leaves or absences. • Provide backup support for accounting processes and complete additional tasks as assigned. • Supervise and evaluate subordinate employees, making recommendations to support their growth and development.

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is required. • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger closings, preferably in a nonprofit setting. • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to analyze data and generate reports. • Experience with Sage accounting software and payroll systems. • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. • Demonstrated ability to work in a respectful and collaborative environment. • Excellent supervisory and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
