Accounting Clerk
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:<br>• Accurately process accounts payable and receivable transactions.<br>• Review and process corporate credit card transactions to ensure the use of proper expense<br>classification and adequate documentation is provided.<br>• Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.<br>• Prepare and process journal entries with proper documentation and approvals.<br>• Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.<br>• Maintain detailed financial records and organized filing systems (physical and electronic).<br>• Support preparation of regulatory reports (e.g., NCUA Call Reports, state filings).<br>• Assist with annual audits and examinations by gathering documentation and responding to<br>auditor requests.<br>• Monitor and report variances, identify discrepancies, and assist in resolving accounting issues.<br>• Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, procedures, and applicable laws and<br>regulations.<br>• Provide support for payroll processing and benefits administration, if needed.<br>• Participate in projects to improve accounting operations and financial reporting systems.<br>• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.<br>• Advocate and demonstrate company brand.<br>• Other duties as assigned.<br>Qualifications:<br>• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or relevant coursework in Accounting,<br>Finance, or Business preferred.<br>• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial operations, ideally within a<br>financial institution.<br>• Solid understanding of accounting principles; knowledge of GAAP preferred.<br>• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.<br>• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with accounting software and core financial<br>systems is a plus.<br>Accounting Associate Page 2 of 3 Revised: June 2025<br>Reviewed: June 2025<br>• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.<br>• Maintains confidentiality with sensitive information.<br>• Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.<br>• Team-oriented with a strong commitment to member service.<br>• Demonstrates approachability, sound judgment, and collaborative leadership qualities.<br>• Acceptable background check; credit, criminal and insurance.
