We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. This is a long-term contract position offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to key financial operations while refining your expertise in accounting practices. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in managing cash applications, collections, and accounts receivable, while providing support to entry-level staff members. Responsibilities: • Oversee and manage cash application processes, ensuring accuracy and timely posting. • Handle collections and maintain positive relationships with clients to resolve outstanding balances. • Monitor accounts receivable activities, including lockbox transactions and payment reconciliations. • Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records. • Assist with month-end close activities, ensuring all tasks are completed within established deadlines. • Perform general ledger account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance. • Conduct bank reconciliations and address discrepancies in a timely manner. • Provide guidance and support to entry-level clerks, ensuring their tasks align with company standards. • Collaborate with team members to improve efficiency in accounting processes. • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements in all financial operations.

• Proven experience in month-end close procedures and financial reporting. • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation. • Expertise in account reconciliation and resolving discrepancies. • Familiarity with bank reconciliation processes and best practices. • Ability to manage accounts receivable and cash application activities. • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. • Detail-oriented and organized, with a commitment to accuracy. • Proficiency in relevant accounting software and tools.
