Senior Network Engineer to Start on Monday, 11/17/25

Start Date this Monday, 11/17/25 for the right candidate as a Senior Network Engineer/Administrator w/ secondary skills in Systems suited for a smaller IT Department. This will be a very swift moving contract to permanent hire in order to satisfy the urgency of this role being filled. We are looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our team in Punta Gorda, Florida. This is a Contract to permanent opportunity that will allow you to bring your expertise in networking and systems administration to a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network infrastructure, cybersecurity principles, and multi-site support. Responsibilities:• Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, VLANs, and firewalls.• Configure and maintain VPNs, IP routing protocols, and network security systems to ensure optimal performance and security.• Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure AD, Intune, and Group Policy for seamless system integration.• Utilize virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V to support system operations.• Monitor network performance using advanced tools and troubleshoot connectivity issues as they arise.• Apply cybersecurity best practices to strengthen network security and prevent unauthorized access.• Document network configurations, policies, and procedures for future reference and compliance.• Provide support for email systems, including Outlook, archiving, and discovery tools.• Collaborate with teams across multiple sites to ensure consistent network functionality and support smart city infrastructure.• Stay updated on emerging networking technologies and recommend improvements where applicable.

• Bachelor’s degree or Associate's degree with relevant networking certifications. • At least 5 years of progressive experience in networking and systems administration. • Proficiency with Cisco routers, Cisco ASA, and Palo Alto firewalls. • Strong knowledge of LAN, WAN, and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP). • Experience with Unifi, PFSense, or equivalent networking hardware. • Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V. • Solid understanding of network hardening and cybersecurity practices. • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multi-site, fast-paced environment.
