<p>We’re looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to design, build, and operate secure, scalable infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You’ll lead with GKE for container orchestration, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Ansible) for repeatability, and scripting (Python, Shell/Bash) to automate everything from provisioning to observability. This role bridges architecture and hands-on delivery, partnering closely with DevOps, SRE, Security, and application teams.</p><p><br></p><p>What You’ll Do</p><ul><li><strong>Architect & implement</strong> highly available, cost-efficient GCP environments (VPCs, subnets, routing, load balancers, Cloud NAT, Cloud DNS, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL/Spanner/BigQuery as applicable).</li><li><strong>Design, deploy, and operate GKE</strong> clusters (node pools, autoscaling, upgrades, ingress, CNI/CNI‑overlays, workload identity, network policies, pod security).</li><li><strong>Automate infrastructure</strong> with Terraform or Ansible (modules/roles, workspaces/environments, pipelines, policy-as-code).</li><li><strong>Build platform tooling</strong> and automation in Python/Shell/Bash (provisioning, configuration drift remediation, release packaging, operational runbooks).</li><li><strong>Implement observability</strong> (Cloud Monitoring/Logging, Prometheus/Grafana, OpenTelemetry) and actionable alerting/SLOs.</li><li><strong>Harden security</strong> (IAM least-privilege, service accounts, secrets management, private clusters, image scanning, workload identity, org policies).</li><li><strong>Enable CI/CD</strong> for apps and infra (Cloud Build/GitHub Actions/GitLab CI, artifact registries, blue/green or canary deployment strategies).</li><li><strong>Drive reliability</strong>—capacity planning, performance tuning, backup/DR strategies, incident response, root cause analysis, and postmortems.</li><li><strong>Mentor engineers</strong>, codify best practices, and contribute to architectural standards and roadmaps.</li></ul><p><br></p>

<p>Required Skills:</p><ul><li><strong>8+ years</strong> in Cloud/DevOps/SRE/Platform roles, with 3+ years focused on GCP at scale.</li><li><strong>GKE expertise</strong>: cluster design/operations, autoscaling, ingress/egress patterns, network policies, workload identity, and secure multi-tenant practices.</li><li><strong>IaC proficiency</strong> with Terraform (preferred) or Ansible (roles/playbooks, idempotency, inventories).</li><li><strong>Scripting</strong>: strong in Python and Shell/Bash for automation and tooling.</li><li><strong>Networking fundamentals</strong>: VPC architecture, peering, routing, DNS, load balancing, NAT, firewalls; comfort with private service access and hybrid connectivity (VPN/Interconnect) is a plus.</li><li><strong>Security-first mindset</strong>: IAM design, secrets management, container image security, policy-as-code (OPA/Conftest or equivalent).</li><li><strong>Containers & Kubernetes</strong>: Docker, Helm/Kustomize, registries, admission controllers, RBAC, resource quotas/limits.</li><li>Experience running production systems with monitoring, logging, tracing, and meaningful SLOs/alerts.</li></ul><p>Nice to Have</p><ul><li>Google Cloud certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect, Professional DevOps Engineer).</li><li>Experience with service mesh (Istio/Anthos), eventing/streaming (Pub/Sub, Kafka), data services (BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Memorystore).</li><li>GitOps (Argo CD/Flux), policy-as-code (OPA/Gatekeeper), cost optimization and FinOps practices.</li><li>Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid Kubernetes, and on-call rotations using well-defined SRE practices.</li></ul><p>Tech Stack (Representative)</p><ul><li><strong>Cloud:</strong> GCP (Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, Cloud NAT, VPC, Cloud DNS, Secret Manager, Cloud Monitoring/Logging)</li><li><strong>IaC:</strong> Terraform (modules), Ansible</li><li><strong>CI/CD:</strong> Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Artifact/Container Registry, Helm/Kustomize</li><li><strong>Observability:</strong> Cloud Monitoring/Logging, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry</li><li><strong>Languages:</strong> Python, Shell/Bash</li><li><strong>Security:</strong> IAM, org policies, Workload Identity, image scanning, RBAC, Network Policies</li></ul><p>Impact You’ll Have in the First 90 Days</p><ul><li><strong>Day 30:</strong> Baseline assessment of current GCP/GKE posture; land quick wins in cost controls, IAM cleanup, and alert noise reduction.</li><li><strong>Day 60:</strong> Stand up/improve a modular Terraform foundation with environment separation and automated pipelines.</li><li><strong>Day 90:</strong> Deliver a hardened GKE platform (network policies, workload identity, ingress strategy), plus a repeatable app onboarding guide.</li></ul><p><br></p>
