We are looking for a detail-oriented Insurance Authorization Coordinator to join our team in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate insurance processing, patient account management, and compliance with billing standards. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the transport industry while developing your expertise in medical billing and insurance coordination. Responsibilities: • Review denied or underpaid claims and prepare comprehensive appeals to secure proper reimbursement. • Verify patients' insurance coverage, benefits, and authorization requirements before or after transport to facilitate accurate claims. • Handle inbound calls from patients, providing clear explanations of balances, insurance payments, and available payment options. • Document all actions and communications thoroughly within the billing system to maintain accurate records. • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve payer inquiries and clarify service details. • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal procedures to uphold billing standards. • Use billing software and payer portals efficiently to manage accounts and claims. • Assist with additional tasks as needed to support department goals.

• Previous experience in medical billing, insurance follow-up, or revenue cycle operations is preferred. • Familiarity with insurance terminology, claim processes, and denial codes is essential. • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. • Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and work independently with minimal supervision. • Proficiency in billing software, payer portals, and general computer applications. • Experience in ambulance billing or transport industry billing is a plus. • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
