We are looking for an experienced, hands-on, on site Controller to join a nonprofit basis in Norwich, Connecticut. In this role, you will solely oversee critical accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with organizational policies. TResponsibilities:• Manage month-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.• Conduct detailed analysis comparing actual financial results to budget projections.• Reconcile accounts and bank statements to maintain accuracy and consistency.• Prepare comprehensive financial statements and management reports for organizational leadership.• Perform cash flow analysis to support financial planning and decision-making.• Oversee payment entry controls and ensure proper handling of accounts receivable.• Utilize Sage Intacct to streamline accounting operations and reporting.• Ensure compliance with grant accounting requirements and regulations.• Record and maintain accurate journal entries for all financial transactions.• Monitor and manage fixed asset accounting processes.

• Proficiency in Sage Intacct and its accounting functionalities.• PECS Payment Entry Control System – processes and reconcile a high volume of electronic transactions.• Strong expertise in account and bank reconciliation.• Experience with grant accounting and compliance requirements.• In-depth knowledge of month-end close processes and variance analysis.• Ability to perform detailed cash flow analysis.• Skilled in creating and managing journal entries.• Familiarity with fixed asset accounting and reporting.• Demonstrated ability to work in a non-profit environment and contribute to its mission.
