HR Generalist
We are looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Norfolk, Virginia. This role is ideal for someone who is detail oriented, has strong expertise in human resources operations, and is passionate about supporting organizational goals in an educational setting. The successful candidate will play a key part in managing employee data, administering benefits, and ensuring compliance with HR policies.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Maintain accurate employee records and oversee data management processes.<br>• Administer leave programs and benefits while ensuring compliance with applicable policies.<br>• Coordinate onboarding and offboarding procedures to ensure smooth transitions for employees.<br>• Respond to routine HR inquiries and provide support with policy implementation.<br>• Handle high-volume data entry tasks with precision and attention to detail.<br>• Manage HRIS systems, including Workday, and support implementation efforts.<br>• Process and manage FOIA requests efficiently and in accordance with regulations.<br>• Assist with employee relations and ensure compliance with labor laws and organizational standards.<br>• Support administrative tasks such as reporting, scanning, purchasing, and document organization.<br>• Collaborate on various HR projects and adapt to shifting priorities as needed.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in human resources, preferably within higher education or public-sector environments.<br>• Proficiency in benefits administration, leave management, and employee relations.<br>• Strong communication skills and ability to address HR inquiries professionally.<br>• Experience with HRIS systems, including Workday, and implementation processes.<br>• Knowledge of compliance standards, including FMLA and FOIA regulations.<br>• High attention to detail and ability to handle high-volume data entry.<br>• Familiarity with onboarding and offboarding processes.<br>• Ability to adapt to dynamic environments and manage shifting priorities effectively.
