Sr. Procurement Consultant
<p>We are looking for an experienced Sr. Procurement Consultant to join our client's team in New York, New York. This contract-to-permanent position is vital in overseeing sourcing, supplier relationships, and procurement strategies for critical infrastructure and capital equipment supporting hyperscale data centers. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in supply chain management, vendor negotiations, and cost optimization to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Candidate MUST have construction experience!</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet operational and growth objectives for hyperscale data centers.</p><p>• Manage the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and timely delivery.</p><p>• Build and sustain strong relationships with suppliers, promoting performance alignment and continuous improvement.</p><p>• Lead high-value contract negotiations for infrastructure equipment, construction services, and maintenance agreements.</p><p>• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Engineering, Legal, and Finance, to align procurement activities with technical and budgetary requirements.</p><p>• Identify opportunities to enhance supply chain efficiency and scalability while mitigating risks.</p><p>• Monitor industry trends and leverage market intelligence to optimize sourcing decisions and supplier performance.</p><p>• Evaluate supplier performance and contractual obligations to ensure seamless supply chain continuity.</p><p>• Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to streamline procurement workflows and enhance transparency.</p><p>• Establish measurable metrics and data-driven approaches to track procurement outcomes and progress.</p>
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on supply chain management and vendor relations.<br>• Expertise in government procurement, indirect procurement, and competitive bidding.<br>• Proven ability to negotiate and manage contracts for construction and infrastructure projects.<br>• Strong knowledge of data center operations, technologies, and infrastructure.<br>• Experience with cost optimization strategies and logistics/distribution processes.<br>• Familiarity with WMS systems and business process re-engineering (BPR).<br>• Demonstrated skill in change management and driving procurement process improvements.<br>• Ability to maintain vendor files and foster productive vendor relationships.
