Sr. Accountant
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-driven Senior Accountant to join our team in New York, New York. This Contract-to-permanent position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment where innovation and collaboration are key. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and supporting month-end close processes.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Oversee key aspects of the month-end close process, including reviewing financial statements and conducting variance analysis.<br>• Prepare and post journal entries while ensuring the accuracy of balance sheet reconciliations and addressing discrepancies.<br>• Collaborate with external auditors during financial statement audits by providing schedules, documentation, and detailed responses to inquiries.<br>• Develop and refine accounting policies and business processes to strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with regulations.<br>• Partner with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and adherence to compliance standards.<br>• Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and optimize internal accounting systems.<br>• Provide support to leadership by completing special projects, ad-hoc reporting, and analysis requests.<br>• Stay updated on industry best practices and accounting standards to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial processes.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, ideally within a start-up or SaaS environment.<br>• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; public accounting experience is preferred.<br>• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel to analyze and manage financial data.<br>• Strong initiative and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving workplace.<br>• Familiarity with NetSuite and Stripe is advantageous.<br>• Knowledge of ASC606 Deferred Revenue and billing processes is a plus.<br>• Demonstrated experience in general ledger management, journal entries, and account reconciliations.<br>• Exceptional analytical skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
