We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in New York, New York. In this role, you will oversee critical accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting. This position offers an opportunity to collaborate across departments and contribute to the organization's financial integrity. Responsibilities: • Manage the monthly close process to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. • Conduct detailed reconciliations and analyses of balance sheet accounts, including inventory, prepaid expenses, accruals, and fixed assets. • Partner with Supply Chain and Operations teams to monitor and report on landed costs, product margins, and overall profitability. • Prepare schedules and provide necessary documentation to support the annual audit process. • Review and post journal entries while maintaining compliance with accounting standards and company policies. • Ensure the accuracy of general ledger accounts by performing regular reviews and reconciliations. • Handle bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies promptly. • Assist with identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency and accuracy. • Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data to support strategic decision-making.

• Proven experience with month-end close processes and financial reporting. • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation. • Proficiency in performing account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies. • Familiarity with bank reconciliation processes and related controls. • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present financial data. • Strong collaboration skills, particularly with cross-functional teams like Supply Chain and Operations. • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accuracy and compliance. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with CPA certification preferred.
