Accountant - Entry Level
We are looking for a detail-oriented Entry-Level Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in New York, New York. In this role, you will focus on ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial transactions, particularly employee expenses and corporate card submissions. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in the financial services industry while contributing to the organization's success.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Review employee expense reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and appropriate coding.<br>• Verify compliance with company travel and expense policies for all submissions.<br>• Match receipts to transactions and confirm all required documentation is provided.<br>• Identify and address discrepancies, missing receipts, or policy violations, and follow up with employees to resolve issues.<br>• Conduct audits on high-risk or out-of-policy expenses for additional verification.<br>• Ensure corporate card transactions are properly supported and submitted within established deadlines.<br>• Monitor and maintain accurate financial records related to accounts payable and receivable.<br>• Assist with account reconciliations to ensure consistency and compliance.<br>• Prepare accounting entries and support month-end closing processes.
• Basic knowledge of accounts payable (AP) processes.<br>• Familiarity with bank reconciliation and account reconciliation procedures.<br>• Understanding of accounts receivable (AR) workflows.<br>• Ability to prepare and review accounting entries accurately.<br>• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.<br>• Proficiency in financial software and tools.<br>• Effective communication skills to liaise with employees and resolve discrepancies.
