Sr. Accountant
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in New Haven, Connecticut. In this contract-to-permanent role, you will play a vital part in managing financial operations for a non-profit organization. This position requires someone with strong attention to detail and expertise in federal grants and accounting processes.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Oversee month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.<br>• Perform reconciliations for accounts and bank statements to maintain financial integrity.<br>• Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries and adjustments.<br>• Ensure compliance with federal grant requirements and regulations.<br>• Utilize Sage software to streamline accounting operations and reporting.<br>• Collaborate with team members to improve financial workflows and efficiency.<br>• Prepare detailed financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.<br>• Support audits by providing necessary documentation and insights.<br>• Assist in identifying and resolving discrepancies within financial records.
• Proven experience with month-end close procedures and general ledger management.<br>• Proficiency in preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations.<br>• Familiarity with bank reconciliation processes and financial accuracy.<br>• Knowledge of Sage software and its applications in accounting.<br>• Experience working with federal grants and ensuring compliance.<br>• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.<br>• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies.<br>• Effective communication skills for collaboration with teams and stakeholders.
