We are looking for an experienced Sr. Cost Analyst to join our team on a contract basis in the west suburbs of Illinois. In this role, you will play a key part in overseeing project cost analysis and planning, ensuring the financial health and operational efficiency of various initiatives. This position requires a strong background in project cost accounting and financial analysis, along with the ability to collaborate across departments to meet organizational goals. Responsibilities:• Monitor and evaluate project costs and schedules to identify performance variances and ensure alignment with planned results.• Assist in the development and maintenance of cost performance models to support accurate financial tracking.• Create, update, and analyze weekly reports to provide clear insights into project progress and financial status.• Ensure the accuracy of cost planning while identifying and mitigating potential risks.• Prepare and coordinate timely management reports for both internal and external stakeholders.• Implement and monitor scopes of work, including Work Breakdown Structures, to maintain project integrity.• Develop and update dashboards to reflect current costs and provide detailed reporting for customers and internal teams.• Maintain historical cost data for future impact analysis and decision-making purposes.• Evaluate and recommend improvements to cost control and financial reporting processes.• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring compliance with financial requirements.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in project cost accounting and financial analysis. • Proficiency in managing cost performance for construction and other large-scale projects. • Strong knowledge of financial reporting and budgeting processes. • Expertise in developing and maintaining cost tracking systems and dashboards. • Ability to analyze data to ensure alignment with organizational strategies and procedures. • Experience in preparing departmental budgets and forecasts with attention to detail. • Excellent communication skills to provide guidance and recommendations to staff and management. • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on identifying risks and implementing solutions.
