We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on a contract basis. This role involves managing key accounting functions while leading and mentoring a team of five direct reports. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise and leadership skills to ensure smooth financial operations and accurate reporting in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities: • Oversee complex reconciliations, including journal entries, debt management, interest accruals, and loan origination fee accounting. • Lead the month-end close process, including reviewing prepayments, exporting data from accounts payable systems, and booking accruals. • Supervise accounts payable operations, ensuring timely review of check runs and payment completions. • Manage recurring financial processes such as cash forecasting and financial postings. • Provide leadership and guidance to a team of five direct reports, fostering growth and maintaining high performance. • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and accuracy in financial reporting. • Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency. • Utilize advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting tasks. • Monitor and optimize the use of accounts payable software, with a preference for experience in Rillion. • Support audits and other financial reviews as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.• A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, including team management.• Proficiency in general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliation.• Strong experience with month-end close and bank reconciliations.• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.• Excellent leadership and communication abilities.• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial processes.
