<p><strong>Coding Specialist – Professional Fee (Pro-Fee) | $22/hr | Permanent, Remote</strong></p><p> <strong>Location:</strong> Remote (U.S. only – <em>No candidates from CA, NY, WA, or CO</em>)</p><p> <strong>Type:</strong> Permanent / Full-Time </p><p> <strong>Pay:</strong> $22 per hour + quarterly performance bonus ($500–$600 avg.)</p><p> <strong>Start Date:</strong> ASAP </p><p><br></p><p><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p>A leading shared services organization in healthcare, is seeking experienced Professional Fee (Pro-Fee) Medical Coders to join the growing team. These are permanent, full-time remote positions with excellent benefits and a flexible first-shift schedule.</p><p>You’ll be responsible for coding professional (physician) services across a designated specialty including Cardiology, Vascular, Thoracic Surgery, Orthopedic, and General Surgery. This is a production-based environment, ideal for coders who thrive on accuracy, speed, and autonomy.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Review medical documentation and accurately assign CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes for professional services.</li><li>Determine appropriate codes based on provider documentation and payer guidelines.</li><li>Meet production and quality standards while maintaining compliance with coding regulations.</li><li>Collaborate with team members and management to resolve coding questions.</li></ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Minimum 1 year of professional fee (Pro-Fee) coding experience required</li><li>Active certification from AAPC or AHIMA required (one of the following):</li><li>CPC, CPC-A, CCA, or CCS</li><li>Experience coding in one or more of the following specialties preferred:</li><li>Cardiology, Vascular, Thoracic Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, or General Surgery</li><li>Technical proficiency and comfort with EHR systems (EPIC experience highly preferred but not required)</li><li>Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, and meet metrics in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Candidates must currently reside and be authorized to work in the U.S.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Compensation & Benefits</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Pay:</strong> $22.00 per hour </li><li><strong>Quarterly bonus:</strong> Based on productivity, average $500–$600 per quarter</li><li><strong>Benefits include:</strong></li><li>Medical, dental, and vision insurance (effective the 1st of the month following hire)</li><li>401(k) – no match, immediate eligibility</li><li>Paid time off and holidays</li><li>No health screen required</li><li>Flexible Monday–Friday daytime schedule, with optional overtime up to 10 hours/week</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Hiring & Onboarding</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Interviews:</strong> 30-minute MS Teams panel interview</li><li><strong>Process:</strong> Background check and drug screening </li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Note:</strong> Candidates with a CPC-A must still meet the 1-year experience requirement. Applicants without recent healthcare or coding experience (within the past 2 years) will not be considered.</p>
