Legal Secretary
We are looking for a skilled Legal Secretary to join our team on a contract basis in Midland, Texas. In this role, you will provide comprehensive support to attorneys, ensuring the efficient handling of legal tasks and case management. This position requires someone with strong attention to detail who excels in legal research, document preparation, and trial support.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Support attorneys in preparing for trials, including drafting briefs, subpoenas, and motions.<br>• Conduct thorough legal research to assist in developing strategies for cases.<br>• Draft and review various legal documents such as pleadings, discovery materials, and motions.<br>• Organize and maintain case files, ensuring they are up-to-date and accessible.<br>• Coordinate depositions and prepare transcripts and written summaries.<br>• Facilitate client meetings and attend legal proceedings as required.<br>• Manage and track schedules using calendar management tools to ensure deadlines are met.<br>• Utilize legal software to manage billing functions and case-related documentation.<br>• Assist in organizing exhibits and evidence for trial presentations.
• At least 1 year of experience as a litigation paralegal or legal secretary.<br>• Strong knowledge of legal procedures, court systems, and protocols.<br>• Proficiency in legal research tools and software, including Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, and CompuLaw.<br>• Excellent organizational and secretarial skills with attention to detail.<br>• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.<br>• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.<br>• Certification as a Legal Secretary or a degree in a law-related field is preferred.<br>• Experience with case management software and client relations is highly desirable.
