<p>We are looking for a detail-oriented and shipping & receiving clerk to join our team in Memphis, Tennessee. This is a long-term contract position in the steel manufacturing industry, where you will play a vital role in supporting daily office operations and ensuring smooth communication within the organization. The ideal candidate will excel in multitasking, exhibit strong interpersonal skills, and maintain a high level of organization.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>The Receiving Clerk plays a crucial role in the logistics and inventory management of our distribution center. This position is responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and documenting incoming shipments while ensuring that all products are properly stored and accounted for. The ideal candidate will have experience with warehouse management systems and a strong attention to detail.</p><p><br></p><p>Essential Job Functions</p><p>• Receive and inspect incoming shipments for steel quality and accuracy against purchase orders.</p><p>• Document and report any discrepancies or damages found during the receiving process.</p><p>• Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory levels and manage stock efficiently.</p><p>• Assist in order fulfillment by picking items as needed for outgoing shipments.</p><p>• Maintain an organized storage area, ensuring that all stock is properly labeled and stored according to company standards.</p><p>• Perform basic math calculations to verify quantities received and ensure accurate inventory records.</p><p>• Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow within the distribution center.</p><p><br></p>

<p><br></p><p>Qualifications</p><p>• Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment is preferred.</p><p>• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and material requirements planning (MRP) software is a plus.</p><p>• Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely; certification may be required.</p><p>• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.</p><p>• Basic math skills for inventory counting and order verification.</p><p>• Physical ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods of time.</p><p>• Experience with order picking processes is advantageous.</p><p>• Must have a great attitude and be able to work independently</p><p>• Must be present daily and understand this is a fast paced environment</p><p><br></p>
