Quality Assurance Manager
We are looking for a dedicated Quality Assurance Manager to join our team in Madera, California. This is a Contract-to-permanent position offering an opportunity to lead and oversee quality control systems, ensuring compliance with food safety standards and manufacturing excellence. The role involves collaborating with various departments, managing quality assurance programs, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Develop and implement quality control systems to ensure the highest standards for raw materials, finished products, and manufacturing environments.<br>• Oversee food safety plans and quality programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements.<br>• Supervise department staff, evaluate their performance, and ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.<br>• Investigate customer complaints, implement corrective actions, and provide timely reports and responses.<br>• Maintain and validate food safety systems, including prerequisite programs and quality limits, through regular audits and internal evaluations.<br>• Collaborate with plant departments and senior management to enhance the quality of raw materials and finished goods.<br>• Manage pest control, sanitation, and positive release programs to maintain operational standards.<br>• Lead regulatory inspections, customer audits, and third-party audits while ensuring corrective actions are developed and executed.<br>• Partner with external laboratories for analytical and microbiological testing to support quality assurance initiatives.<br>• Develop and deliver training programs focused on quality and food safety to enhance team knowledge and adherence.
<p><strong>Education, Experience and Knowledge: </strong></p><p>· Bachelor’s degree in a food science, technology, or laboratory science (such as biology, chemistry, or physics, etc.) is required, or</p><p>· Seven or more years of experience in managing quality operations in a food-manufacturing environment.</p><p> </p><p>Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:</p><p>· HACCP Certified </p><p>· Certified SQF Practitioner</p><p>· PCQI – Preventive Control Qualified Individual. </p><p> </p><p><strong>Skills and Competencies:</strong></p><p>· Must be a strong communicator with comprehensive hands-on experience in both food manufacturing/operations and QC lab environments. </p><p>· Strong leadership skills in managing change as well as managing the activities of technically based employees. </p><p>· Highly proficient in utilizing popular computer software/desktop applications (such as MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Visio, etc.). </p><p>· Must be capable of serving as a “customer advocate” within the CCP environment. </p><p>· Must be capable of positively interacting with other companies/customers upper managements. </p><p>· Should be available to travel up to 20%.</p><p> </p>
