Mailroom Assistant
We are looking for a dedicated Mailroom Assistant to join our team in Lowell, Massachusetts. In this Contract-to-Permanent position, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of mailroom activities, including handling incoming and outgoing correspondence and providing reception coverage when needed. This role requires strong organizational skills and an attentive demeanor, as you will often serve as the face of the company.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Receive and sort incoming mail and packages, distributing them to the appropriate departments or individuals.<br>• Process and log incoming packages, maintaining accurate tracking records and ensuring secure handling.<br>• Collect outgoing mail and packages from designated areas, verifying proper labeling and postage for shipment.<br>• Deliver mail and packages to employee workstations or mailboxes promptly and efficiently.<br>• Prepare outgoing mail by weighing items, applying postage, and ensuring compliance with postal regulations.<br>• Operate and maintain mailing equipment, including postage meters, to streamline mail processing.<br>• Provide reception coverage during staff absences or vacations, ensuring an organized and welcoming environment.<br>• Utilize communication tools like RingCentral to manage mailroom and reception tasks effectively.
• Previous experience in mailroom operations or similar roles.<br>• Familiarity with handling incoming and outgoing mail and packages.<br>• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.<br>• Ability to operate mailing equipment, such as postage meters.<br>• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to serve as the company’s point of contact.<br>• Proficiency in tools like RingCentral or similar communication platforms.<br>• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
