Human Resources Lead - Nonprofit Organization

We value a collaborative, inclusive culture and are seeking an experienced HR professional to lead our people strategy while ensuring compliance and fostering positive employee relations.</p><p><strong>Position Overview:</strong></p><p> The Human Resources Lead will be responsible for managing all HR functions for a staff of 25+ employees, including labor relations, compliance with labor laws, and supporting unionized employees. This is an onsite role in South Los Angeles, ideal for a proactive, hands-on HR professional who thrives in a mission-driven environment.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Oversee all HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and employee relations.</li><li>Serve as the primary HR contact for labor relations, managing union interactions and negotiations.</li><li>Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.</li><li>Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that promote a positive work culture.</li><li>Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on performance management, conflict resolution, and workforce planning.</li><li>Maintain accurate HR records and reporting.</li><li>Collaborate with leadership to align HR initiatives with organizational goals.</li></ul><p><b> </b></p><p><br></p>
<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree or HR certification (PHR/SPHR) preferred.</li><li>Minimum 5 years of HR experience, with direct experience in labor relations and managing unionized staff.</li><li>In-depth knowledge of California labor laws and nonprofit HR practices.</li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage sensitive situations.</li><li>Hands-on experience in HR compliance, policy development, and employee relations.</li><li>Ability to work onsite in South Los Angeles.</li></ul><p><br></p>
