Family Services Associate - HeadStart
Hiring: Child Development Specialist (contract) — $22/hr Location: Los Angeles, CA 90056 <br> We are seeking a Child Development Specialist to support Family Child Care Home (FCCH) programs serving children from birth through kindergarten age. This role involves designing, delivering, and evaluating early childhood services, providing coaching and detail oriented development to Family Child Care Providers, and ensuring high-quality support for families and children. <br> Key Responsibilities: <br> • Provide Early Head Start–aligned services to children in FCCH settings. • Maintain accurate documentation across education, family services, disabilities, mental health, nutrition, and health. • Engage families in a goal-setting process and support family partnership agreements. • Build trusting, culturally responsive relationships with FCCH providers and families. • Connect families with resources related to health, nutrition, mental health, social services, job preparedness, crisis intervention, and other needs. • Conduct weekly site visits to assigned FCCH providers and complete site visit reports accurately.
Qualifications: <br> • Experience working with children ages 0–5 in early childhood, education, or family services settings. • Knowledge of child development principles and best practices. • Ability to build strong, culturally responsive relationships with families and caregivers. • Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills. • Ability to conduct home or site visits as required. • Familiarity with family partnership planning, service coordination, or early childhood programs is a plus. • Bilingual abilities are welcomed but not required.
