Accountant - Entry Level
We are looking for a detail-oriented Entry-Level Accountant to join our team in Los Angeles, California. This is a Contract-to-permanent opportunity with a respected property management firm, ideal for individuals eager to gain hands-on experience in financial operations. The role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage various accounting tasks with precision.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Collaborate with bank lenders to provide documentation for property improvements, including gathering invoices and cleared checks for reimbursement requests.<br>• Maintain and update spreadsheets to record returned checks from tenants, ensuring accurate tracking of non-sufficient funds activity across multiple properties.<br>• Prepare and upload positive pay files to ensure daily check activity is accurately reflected in banking systems.<br>• Retrieve and upload bank statements for all accounts during scheduled cycles, dedicating two full days each month to this process.<br>• Conduct account reconciliation to ensure financial accuracy and resolve discrepancies.<br>• Perform coding, analysis, and entry of accounting data to support financial reporting.<br>• Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice verification and timely payment execution.<br>• Assist with general accounting functions to support the overall financial operations of the organization.
• An educational background in accounting, finance, or a related field (associate degree or higher preferred).<br>• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet software.<br>• Strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.<br>• Ability to work independently and adhere to deadlines.<br>• Familiarity with basic property management or banking processes is advantageous but not mandatory.<br>• Knowledge of account coding and reconciliation practices.<br>• Experience with accounts payable processes and general accounting entries.<br>• Analytical skills to perform account analysis and ensure accuracy of financial data.
