Assistant Controller
<p>We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Controller to join our team in La Porte, Indiana. As a key member of the finance department, you will manage critical financial activities, ensure compliance with regulations, and provide strategic insights to support the organization’s growth. This role offers an opportunity to lead and improve financial processes while collaborating with various stakeholders.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Prepare and maintain comprehensive financial planning reports, analyzing results to provide actionable recommendations for strategic and tactical decision-making.</p><p>• Conduct detailed analyses of business initiatives, including new operations, asset acquisitions, service launches, and pricing strategies.</p><p>• Develop and oversee the organization’s capital budget, ensuring alignment with financial goals.</p><p>• Manage cash flow planning and oversee the organization’s cash, investment, and asset management activities.</p><p>• Utilize predictive models and activity-based financial reports to deliver insights into operational performance and future business plans.</p><p>• Represent the company in financial dealings with banks, investors, auditors, and other external partners, ensuring strong relationships and financial strategies.</p><p>• Supervise the accounting department, maintaining all accounting systems and supporting the development of finance staff.</p><p>• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for stakeholders, including federal and state funders, investors, and the board of directors.</p><p>• Coordinate audits and ensure proper filing of tax returns and regulatory documents, maintaining compliance with legal and financial regulations.</p><p>• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.</p><p><br></p><ul><li>medical/dental/vision/life insurance 401K</li><li>short term and long-term disability and life </li><li>salary is 90-110K</li></ul><p><br></p>
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.<br>• At least 5 years of experience in a senior financial management role, preferably within a private or global organization.<br>• A minimum of 10 years of overall finance experience, demonstrating expertise in financial strategy and operations.<br>• Proficiency in month-end closing, general ledger management, and financial statement audits.<br>• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and compliance regulations, including DCAA.<br>• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to develop forward-looking financial models.<br>• Proven leadership skills with experience supervising and developing finance teams.<br>• Familiarity with enhancing financial systems, tools, and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
