Staff Accountant
<p>We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to contribute to an accounting operation in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. This long-term contract position offers an excellent opportunity to work on critical financial tasks such as journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and reporting. The ideal candidate will bring advanced Excel skills, solid analytical capabilities, and a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of their work.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Prepare and record journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies.</p><p>• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of balance sheet accounts to maintain data integrity.</p><p>• Analyze variances between actual and budgeted financial results and document findings for management review.</p><p>• Assist in creating schedules and reports required for audits and internal reviews.</p><p>• Update and manage financial records while ensuring proper coding and adherence to accounting standards.</p><p>• Collaborate with other departments to address discrepancies and enhance accounting processes.</p><p>• Support month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring timely and accurate completion.</p><p>• Utilize accounting systems, such as Mass500, to streamline financial operations and reporting.</p><p>• Apply advanced Excel techniques, including pivot tables and macros, to analyze data and generate financial reports.</p>
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.<br>• At least 2 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally at the staff accountant level.<br>• Proficiency in accounting systems, with experience in Mass500 preferred.<br>• Advanced Excel skills, including expertise in pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis.<br>• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.<br>• Excellent organizational and communication skills to present financial insights effectively.<br>• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks and priorities.<br>• Knowledge of corporate tax, sales tax, and general ledger processes is highly desirable.
