Accounting Manager/Supervisor
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in Kansas City, Missouri. In this long-term contract role, you will oversee accounting operations for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial processes. This position requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Supervise a team of two accountants and four specialists, providing guidance and ensuring the accuracy of their work.<br>• Review and approve journal entries, bank reconciliations, and financial statements to maintain compliance with accounting standards.<br>• Assist in the development and analysis of budgets and forecasts to support organizational goals.<br>• Ensure efficient workflows by overseeing both paper-heavy and paperless accounting systems, including Shelby and Acumatica.<br>• Perform detailed financial audits and month-end close processes to ensure accurate reporting.<br>• Monitor and refine time management practices within the team to meet deadlines in a high-volume setting.<br>• Utilize advanced Excel functions, such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP, to analyze and report financial data.<br>• Collaborate on reporting tasks using tools like Valixo to enhance financial transparency and decision-making.
• Proven experience in accounting management or supervision, preferably in high-volume environments.<br>• Strong proficiency with accounting software, including familiarity with Shelby and Acumatica systems.<br>• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.<br>• Expertise in month-end close processes and general ledger operations.<br>• Demonstrated ability to review and approve financial statements, journal entries, and reconciliations.<br>• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.<br>• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting.<br>• Familiarity with reporting tools like Valixo is a plus.
