We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Kansas City, Missouri. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in managing financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial data. Responsibilities: • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate transaction management. • Prepare and post journal entries to maintain the integrity of the general ledger. • Conduct regular bank reconciliations to verify financial records and resolve discrepancies. • Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and compliant with accounting standards. • Analyze financial data to support budgeting and forecasting efforts. • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless financial reporting and compliance. • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. • Monitor and enforce adherence to financial policies and procedures. • Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries. • Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting operations.

• Proven experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management. • Strong proficiency in preparing journal entries and conducting bank reconciliations. • Familiarity with accounting principles and standards. • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data. • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities. • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. • Effective communication skills to collaborate with teams and stakeholders. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
