Senior Project Engineer
<p>Position Overview</p><p>We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer (Engineer Level 3) to support the design, construction, and commissioning of utility-scale solar and energy infrastructure projects. This role will serve as a key technical leader, managing third-party engineering contractors and coordinating across multiple internal and external stakeholders to deliver safe, compliant, and high-performing energy assets.</p><p>The ideal candidate brings deep engineering expertise, strong project management capabilities, and the ability to bridge conceptual design through field execution while balancing cost, reliability, and performance.</p><p>Remote work is permitted; however, candidates located in or near Florida are strongly preferred. Periodic travel to the Juno Beach, FL office is required, with more frequent on-site presence during the first 3–6 months.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Lead and manage engineering efforts for utility-scale solar projects from concept development through construction and final commissioning</li><li>Oversee and coordinate third-party engineering and contractor teams to ensure designs meet project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements</li><li>Perform and lead engineering design reviews, technical assessments, and compliance verifications</li><li>Apply value engineering principles to optimize cost, reliability, constructability, and long-term performance</li><li>Collaborate cross-functionally with environmental, procurement, transmission, project management, and construction teams</li><li>Support project planning, scheduling, budget management, performance tracking, and reporting</li><li>Ensure adherence to applicable codes, standards, and permitting requirements</li><li>Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering team members as needed</li><li>Act as an extension of the core engineering team, ensuring best practices are applied throughout the project lifecycle</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Engineering Disciplines (Based on Project Needs)</p><p>Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly valued:</p><ul><li>Electrical / I& C Engineering: Power systems, electric distribution, ladder logic, safe shutdown analysis, ETAP, EDISON</li><li>Mechanical Engineering: Pumps, valves, heat exchangers, pipe stress analysis, ASME standards</li><li>Civil / Structural Engineering: Foundations, site grading, drainage systems, seismic qualification, pipe supports, welding and rigging</li><li>MOV Valve Engineering: Diagnostics, troubleshooting, and valve program management</li></ul>
<p>Required Qualifications</p><ul><li>Bachelor of Science in Engineering (required)</li><li><em>Discipline may include Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Chemical Engineering</em></li><li>Minimum 5 years of engineering experience</li><li><em>(Strong candidates with less experience may be considered if closely aligned)</em></li><li>Demonstrated engineering and project coordination experience on complex infrastructure or capital projects</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams</li><li>Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders, schedules, and technical priorities</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Preferred Qualifications</p><ul><li>11–15 years of experience supporting or leading engineering teams on major energy infrastructure projects</li><li>Utility-scale solar project experience strongly preferred</li><li>Experience across additional power industry technologies, including:</li><li>Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)</li><li>Wind, combined cycle, nuclear, hydrogen</li><li>Substations and transmission systems</li><li>Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred</li><li>Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and leadership skills</li><li>Experience managing project budgets and schedules for large capital projects</li></ul>
