Cash Applications Specialist – Contract to Hire Our client, a well-established service company on the North side of Indianapolis, is seeking a full-time Cash Applications Specialist on a contract-to-hire basis. Training will be onsite Monday–Friday, then the role transitions to a hybrid schedule with Mondays and Fridays remote. Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Post and reconcile customer payments (lockbox, credit card, ACH) </li><li>Identify and separate inter-company payments for accurate reconciliation</li><li>Research short-pay discrepancies and process approved credit adjustments</li><li>Review aging reports, apply prepayments, and ensure transactions are complete</li><li>Follow up on collection meeting action items to ensure timely resolution</li><li>Assist sales staff and customers with billing questions, providing excellent customer service</li><li>Apply unapplied payments for cash-in-advance and accounts</li><li>Complete weekly and month-end billings, reconcile AR balances, and prepare roll-forward reports</li><li>Research prior balance issues and prepare reconciliations of invoices, payments, and credits</li><li>Collaborate with Sales teams on billing corrections and invoice corrections</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Minimum 2 years' cash applications experience required</li><li>Strong knowledge of Excel basics (formulas, formatting, reconciliations)</li><li>Degree in Accounting or Management preferred (Associates or Bachelors)</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities</li><li>Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and customer-focused mindset</li></ul>Why Join?<ul><li>Contract-to-hire opportunity with a respected service company</li><li>Hybrid schedule after training (remote Mondays & Fridays)</li><li>Collaborative team environment with exposure to Sales and Finance leadership</li><li>Opportunity to grow your accounting career in a fast-paced, supportive settinging for candidates scrolling their feeds?</li></ul>

• Proven experience in accounts receivable or cash application roles. • Strong knowledge of cash posting and lockbox transaction processes. • Familiarity with receivables processing and payment reconciliation. • Ability to analyze discrepancies and resolve payment-related issues. • Proficiency in generating reports related to accounts receivable. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams. • Understanding of compliance standards related to financial transactions.
