We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team on a contract basis in Indianapolis, Indiana. In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies and regulations. Responsibilities:• Supervise daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, payroll, and cash receipts.• Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of schedules, general ledger accounts, and financial statements.• Assist in preparing and analyzing monthly financial statements and dealership reports.• Maintain adherence to internal controls, company policies, and applicable regulations.• Provide support to management in financial planning, forecasting, and expense management.• Lead, train, and mentor accounting staff to enhance performance and efficiency.• Collaborate with department managers to ensure proper recording of dealership transactions.• Monitor and reconcile manufacturer receivables, warranty claims, and floorplan schedules.• Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance during audits.• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes and provide ad hoc financial reports as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • At least 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the automotive dealership industry. • Proven supervisory or management experience in an accounting role. • Strong understanding of dealership accounting practices, including schedules and month-end close. • Proficiency in dealership management systems, such as Reynolds & Reynolds. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software. • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication abilities. • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
